| The TLC556 series are monolithic timing circuits fabricated using the TI LinCMOS™ process, which provides full compatibility with CMOS, TTL, and MOS logic and operates at frequencies up to 2 MHz. Accurate time delays and oscillations are possible with smaller, less-expensive timing capacitors than the NE556 because of the high input impedance. Power consumption is low across the full range of power supply voltages. |

| The C5929s parasite power circuit allows the C5929 to operate without a local external power supply. This ability is especially useful for applications that require remote temperature sensing or that are very space constrained. Figure 1 shows the C5929s parasite-power control circuitry, which steals power from the 1-wire bus via the DQ pin when the bus is high. The stolen charge powers the C5929 while the bus is high, and some of the charge is stored on the parasite power capacitor (CPP) to provide power when the bus is low. |
