These pins accept the 12 data inputs from a digital video port of a graphics controller. The levels are 0 to DVDDV, and the VREF signal is used as the threshold level. External Clock Inputs These inputs form a differential clock signal input to the CH7009 for use with the H, V, DE and D[11:0] data. If differential clocks are not available, the XCLK* input should be connected to VREF.
The DS1554 has a lithium power source that is designed to provide energy for the clock activity, and clock and RAM data retention when the VCC supply is not present. The capability of this internal power supply is sufficient to power the DS1554 continuously for the life of the equipment in which it is installed. For specification purposes, the life expectancy is 10 years at 25C with the internal clock oscillator running in the absence of VCC. Each DS1554 is shipped from Dallas Semiconductor with its lithium energy source disconnected, guaranteeing full energy capacity. When VCC is first applied at a level greater than VPF, the lithium energy source is enabled for battery backup operation. Actual life expectancy of the DS1554 will be much longer than 10 years since no internal battery energy is consumed when VCC is present.
The variance in output pulse duration from device to device typically is less than 0.5% for given external timing components. An example of this distribution for the LV221A is shown in Figure 8. Variations in output pulse duration versus supply voltage and temperature are shown in Figure 5.
